The Assam Association Mumbai
Since its inception in 1990, the Assam Association, Mumbai has been a home away from home for the Assamese and North Eastern community living in and around Mumbai.We are a non-profit, non-political, charitable, educational, and cultural organization, dedicated to preserving the essence of our vibrant heritage while embracing the fast-paced world we live in today.
Over 30 Years of Culture, Community & Care
Registered under the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai (Regd. No. 577), our association was founded on the belief that no matter where we go, our roots, values, and community bonds remain strong. For over three decades, we’ve proudly carried the spirit of Assam, organizing cultural events, social outreach programs, and educational support initiatives that bring people together and build lasting impact.
Our Journey
What started as a small gathering of like-minded individuals in Mumbai has today grown into a thriving community space, where traditions are celebrated, voices are heard, and hands are held in times of need. We are driven by the strength of our members and the timeless values passed down through generations.
We host regular cultural programs, musical evenings, literary meets, and Assamese festivals like Bihu creating a space where our children can learn, our elders can connect, and our traditions can be passed on with pride.

Our executive body is elected every two years through a democratic voting process in which all members are encouraged to participate.

Cancer Help
For many years, the Assam Association, Mumbai has been a beacon of support for cancer patients from Assam.
Our Cancer Help initiative provides comprehensive assistance from guiding patients and their families through treatment options to offering emotional and logistical support during challenging times.
We work closely with healthcare providers to ensure that every individual receives timely care and compassionate attention.
Digaster Cell
Our Digaster Cell is dedicated to extending a helping hand whenever and wherever needed.
This specialized unit offers guidance, practical assistance, and access to resources for community members facing various challenges.Whether it’s advice during emergencies or everyday support, our team is always ready to step in and provide the care and reassurance our community deserves.
