Election Notification – April 16, 2017

Overview

The biennial election of The Assam Association for the Executive Committee (EC) term 2017–2019 will be conducted on Sunday, April 16, 2017.

As entrusted by the Executive Committee, I hereby issue this circular to formally announce the election schedule and invite nominations from eligible members.

Posts Open for Nomination

• President: 1
• Vice-President: 4 (Mumbai: 1, Navi Mumbai: 1, No area restriction: 2)
• General Secretary: 1
• Joint Secretary: 4 (Mumbai: 1, Navi Mumbai: 1, No area restriction: 2)
• Treasurer: 1
• Executive Members: 14 across various zones including 2 reserved for women

Important Dates

• Last date for submitting nominations: April 3, 2017
• Scrutiny & valid nominations announcement: April 4, 2017
• Last date for withdrawal: April 6, 2017

Election Day Details

If required (i.e. more than one nomination per post), voting will take place by secret ballot:

• Date: Sunday, April 16, 2017
• Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Venue: IES School, Sector 1, Near Vashi Police Station, Vashi, Navi Mumbai – 400703

Counting of votes and declaration of results will follow immediately after the voting process.
