Marathi Version of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's Songs – An Appeal

(i) After nearly four years of dedicated effort, The Assam Association, Mumbai is proud to announce that our dream project—“Creation of Marathi Versions of the Ten Immortal Songs of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika”—is in its final stage. We plan to release these recordings publicly by year-end.

(ii) The following ten songs have been selected for Marathi translation:
Manuhe Manuhar Babe, Moi Eti Jajabor, Oo Bideshi Bandhu, Sagar Sangamat, Buku Hom Hom Kare, Godavari Noire, Dola He Dola, Moi Aru Mur Cha, Bistirna Parore, Eti Koli Duti Pat, Chinaki Mur Manar Manuh.

(iii) Eminent poetess Dr. Vijaya Dev of Pune (Shakuntala Awardee) has crafted these Marathi lyrics. Renowned music director Mr. Jatin Sarma oversees composition and recording. We are honored that prominent Maharashtra singers—including Usha Mangeshkar, Baiju Mangeshkar, Vaishali Samant, and Mahalakshmi—have agreed to lend their voices.

(iv) A commemorative booklet detailing the project and its key contributors will accompany the public release.

To cover production costs (over ₹800,000), we earnestly appeal to all Assamese Mumbaikars to support with a minimum donation of ₹1,000 per family. Your contribution helps our language and music reach new audiences.
